SARAH
Sarah is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and has been with Amazia for three years now. You will mostly find Sarah working one on one with the patients in the treatment area, which includes getting a thorough history of each patient as they begin their appointment.
After graduating from Portland Community College with her degree, Sarah has more time to devote to her husband Joel, and other hobbies like riding horses, playing music, and entertaining her cats Eskimo and Lilah.
LAURA
Laura began working with Amazia in July 2009 after moving from Toledo, Ohio. In addition to working as a receptionist and assistant, she is attending Portland Community College to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Laura loves animals and currently enjoys her sister’s two boston terriers, Hobbes and Higgins. In her little spare time, Laura helps her sister with basketball camps. She played at Miami University and went to the NCAA tournament her senior year.
BECKY
Becky has been a veterinary assistant with Amazia since October of 2005. She attended Apollo College ’s Veterinary Assisting Program and graduated 2004/ Becky is a talented assistant and brings a great energy to the office.
Becky shares her life with her boyfriend Matt, cat Emma, and a miniature Australian Shepherd, Romy, who you’ll see peeking around the reception desk every day at Amazia. A vegetarian of 8 years, Becky enjoys cooking and trying new foods and restaurants in her spare time. She also likes spending time with friends and family and riding ATV’s at the sand dunes.
DR WENDY
Dr. Wendy has been with Amazia Veterinary Service since April of 2002. Dr. Wendy grew up knowing she wanted to be a veterinarian, and never considered another career path. She started working in veterinary clinics and around animals as soon as she could ride her bicycle to get there.
Dr. Wendy graduated from veterinary school in 1991, from Ohio State University . She worked in Cincinatti , Ohio for a year after graduation before moving to Washington State to be closer to family that had re-located. Dr. Wendy worked in the Puget Sound area for two years before purchasing a practice in Portland . She and her husband, Norm, owned and operated that location for eight years while living in Battle Ground and commuting to Portland .
As the commute got longer and harder with the growing population of Clark County, along with the stress of raising their two young sons, Matt and Dan, Norm and Dr. Wendy made the decision to sell the Portland practice and work closer to home, in order to have more time for family.
Dr. Wendy also spends time pursuing her hobbies, including outdoor activities – Hiking and camping with her family. Riding and helping maintain horse access to trails. She is involved in her boys’ school and Scout Troop and is active with the Back Country Horsemen of Washington. Wendy and Norm’s extended family includes their dog, Max, cats, and horses.
KIM
Kim has been with Amazia nearly as long as Dr. Scot. She is the clinic’s Large Animal Coordinator and Inventory Manager. Her strong veterinary background makes her a vital necessity as she keeps the clinic well stocked and Dr. Scot on track with appointments.
A teenage daughter and son whom are both heavily involved in rodeo keep her busy traveling most weekends. She occasionally joins her husband, Johnny, to his shoeing and equine massage appointments. In her spare time she enjoys riding, scrap-booking and reading. Kim and her family share their lives with various dogs, cats, rabbits and horses in Camas.
MAGGIE
Maggie has been an irreplaceable addition to Amazia Veterinary Service. With her cheerful voice and efficient manner, Maggie is in charge of making sure our patients receive their annual vaccine reminders as well as making appointments. She is also very good at giving new pet owner training tips to make raising their new puppies a little easier.
Maggie and her husband, Dana, share their lives with their golden retrievers Cashew and Emma along with their cats Pinky and The Brain. Maggie enjoys spending every spare moment with training her dogs. Cashew will be competing in Rally Obedience 2009 and Emma (currently nine months old) is just beginning her obedience training.
